Utility Locate Technician $25.00-$30.00/hr Reno/Sparks, Nevada
ELM Utility Services, with a team of over 1,900 employees nationwide, is offering a great opportunity for a Utility Locate Technician in the Reno/Sparks, Nevada area. Technicians are essential in their communities, ensuring that gas, electric, and communication systems are dependable and well-maintained by performing high-quality utility marking to avoid damage during excavation.
About the role
Work independently outdoors with your company-provided vehicle as your mobile office, completing a route of locate requests each day. You will use LaunchPoint, an advanced software system, to receive daily tasks and create efficiencies.
Responsibilities
- Accurately, safely, and efficiently locate and mark underground utilities using marking paint, flags, and sometimes whiskers
- Work on-call rotation and overtime as needed, which may include nights and weekends
Requirements
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, Motor Vehicle Record check, and background check
- High School Diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license
Note: This is a safety-sensitive DOT position that must comply with all Federal Department of Transportation regulations. The use of marijuana (medical or recreational) is prohibited.
Pay
Starting wages for this position will be $25.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
