Utility Inspection Technician

Starting rate for this position is $22/hr.

About the role

We are looking for people to join our team who are problem solvers, take pride in public safety, and are comfortable in a fast-paced, exciting work environment. As a Utility Inspection Technician, you will be responsible for checking gas meters for leaks and corrosion through visual inspection and ensuring all required paperwork/data are completed.

Instructor-led training will be provided. This position may require you to work weekends and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Report to your respective work area on time at the start of each shift.
• Identify any abnormal operating conditions during on-site inspections.
• Accurately fill out all forms associated with the inspection visit (electronic or paper).
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Stand and walk for long periods on varying terrain, bend, stoop, and lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
• Use simple hand tools and read utility maps.

Requirements

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions (previous outdoor experience is a plus).
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Strong communication skills (customer service experience is a plus).
• Able to pass a drug screen (this is a safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

Pay

$22/hr starting rate.

• Overtime may be required.
• Based in Beaver, PA.
