About the role
The Utility Heavy Equipment Excavator is responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing underground distribution systems.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as dump trucks, backhoes, trenchers, and mini-excavators
- Perform excavations
- Follow safety protocols
- Understand underground construction standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical experience or education
- Proficiency in blueprint reading
- Problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with OSHA standards
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA certification
- CDL A
Skills
- Physical strength for lifting and working in confined spaces
- Effective communication
- Critical thinking
- Safe operation of tools and vehicles
Work environment
Outdoor work in various weather conditions, exposure to noise, fumes, and mechanical parts, with the ability to work long hours and perform physically demanding tasks.
