About the Role
This position involves operating off-highway heavy equipment such as haul trucks, pit trucks, water trucks, forklifts, stockpile trucks, bin trucks, and plant trucks within the facility. The role includes safely driving and maneuvering equipment for loading, dumping, and spreading materials, as well as assisting in stockpiling materials and hauling other materials as required.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment with a high degree of competence, skill, and proficiency.
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections and complete daily equipment reports.
- Report unsafe mechanical conditions to the shop foreman and supervisor.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment.
- Assist with routine preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Perform general maintenance and repairs in and around the plant, notifying the plant manager of complex issues.
- Inspect vehicle mechanisms and monitor/maintain fluid levels.
- Assist mechanics with minor service and repairs to equipment.
- Follow established traffic patterns and avoid road hazards.
- Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently, adhering to all safety and health rules.
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.
- Heavy equipment operator experience is preferred.
- Comply with all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) and other company policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Ability to work required overtime and a flexible schedule based on customer needs.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, pull, push, bend, and lift up to 45 pounds.
- Must be able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language.

Work Conditions
