Utility Foreman | CDL Preferred

About the role

Davey Utility Line Clearance is offering an experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson position, preferably holding a CDL and/or having climbing experience, to serve the Northwestern OH region from Findlay to Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2‑5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
• Perform job‑site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work.

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver’s License‑Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses/certificates, if required by state law.
• ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Pay

Hourly rate of $27.00 – $29.00, based on line clearance experience and CDL holder status.

Schedule

Full‑time hourly position.
