Utility Line Clearance Foreman (CDL Preferred)

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is seeking an Experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson (CDL preferred) to service the Guernsey and Tuscarawas County, Ohio regions, including Cambridge, Dover, and New Philadelphia. The role is on‑site and full‑time.

Location

Primary work site: Cambridge, OH. Additional locations: Guernsey County, OH; Dover, OH; New Philadelphia, OH; Tuscarawas County, OH.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2‑5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers.
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
• Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
• Perform job‑site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more.
• Mentor and train new employees.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with air‑brake endorsement or willingness to obtain one.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses/certificates, if required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional.

Pay

Hourly pay $25.00 – $26.00 based on line clearance/industry experience and CDL status.

Schedule

Full‑time hourly position with a generous performance incentive plan. Travel expectations up to 25% of time.
