Foreman (CDL Preferred) | Utility

About the role

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is seeking an Experienced Line Clearance Foreman/Foreperson (CDL preferred) to service Guernsey and Tuscarawas County, Ohio regions including Cambridge, Dover, and New Philadelphia. This is a full-time, on-site position with up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead a 2–5 person tree crew in performing all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers
• Prune treetops and repair damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Perform job-site inspections with proper planning and execution of assigned work and tasks
• Properly maintain, prepare, and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more
• Mentor and train new employees

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire
• Love of the outdoors

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) with Air Brake Endorsement, or willingness to obtain
• Line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional

Pay

Hourly pay $25.00 – $26.00 based on line clearance / industry experience and CDL status.

Schedule
