Foreman (CDL Class A or B Preferred)

VanCuren Tree Services, a Davey company, provides comprehensive tree care for residential, commercial, and utility clients in the greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio region.

About the Role

Direct a crew in Utility Line Clearance, planning and executing arboricultural tasks. This role involves climbing trees using both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems, leading a team, and ensuring safe, productive operations.

Responsibilities

• Safely and productively lead a crew in providing arboricultural care, including:
  • Jobsite Hazards, Obstacles, Plan, Equipment (H.O.P.E) process
  • Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
  • Installation of cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems
  • Removal of hazardous trees
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Collaborate with Groundmen and Trimmer/Climbers as part of a crew.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license preferred but not required.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving courses upon hire.
• Love of the outdoors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates.
• ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.
