About the Role
The Utility Driver is responsible for operating a Concrete Mixer Truck, Flatbed, Dump, Tanker, and Quad in compliance with DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations. This role focuses on providing exceptional customer service by safely delivering quality concrete and products. The driver performs necessary cleaning and maintenance of vehicles to ensure reliable and on-time operation.
Responsibilities
- Operate equipment safely and in compliance with all regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and EPA.
- Comply with DOT regulations, including Pre-Trip, Post-Trip, and DVIR (Vehicle Inspection Reporting) requirements.
- Obey all traffic and safety rules and maintain safety awareness by wearing all PPE consistently.
- Perform tasks safely and report near-miss incidents or potential issues.
- Deliver high-quality materials safely and on time using Mixer, Flatbed, Dump, Tanker, and Quad trucks.
- Complete pre-trip, post-trip, and inspection reports (DVIR).
- Ensure compliance with work instructions and data reporting requirements for internal records, customer specifications, and regulatory needs.
- Report non-standard conditions and perform consistent maintenance on all trucks.
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintain a professional image, and foster positive relationships with customers and team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of Class A driving experience.
- Safely operate concrete mixer, flatbed, dump, and tanker trucks in compliance with DOT and company standards.
- Complete pre-trip, post-trip, and inspection reports (DVIR).
- Work closely with dispatch, plant teams, and quality personnel.
- Maintain and clean assigned truck.
- Provide professional, reliable service to customers at every stop.
- Valid NC CDL Class A license with no restrictions preferred.
- Knowledge of load securement and willingness to train on all Class A vehicles.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to pass criminal background and Clearinghouse checks.
- Strong safety record and work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 75 lbs.
- Climb ladders and access truck equipment.
- Sit, stand, and remain active for extended periods.
- Bend, twist, reach, kneel, and crouch as needed.
- Use hands and arms for vehicle operation and equipment handling.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings, including sounds, movement, and visual details.
