Job Description and Duties

The Utilities Engineer is responsible for understanding safety and risk management, exercising high initiative, independence, and resourcefulness in achieving team goals, and writing clearly, persuasively, and concisely.

Minimum Requirements

The Utilities Engineer must have a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field and at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in utilities engineering.

Department Information

The Public Advocate's Office is the independent consumer advocate at the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The Public Advocate's Office's mandate is to obtain the lowest possible rates for utility services consistent with reliable and safe service levels and the state’s environmental goals. The Public Advocate's Office represents residential and small business ratepayer interests in Commission policy-making proceedings and processes.
