Utilities Clerk - 012 Houston-Lyons

About the role

As a Utilities Clerk at the 012 Houston-Lyons Store, you will assist in the proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department, and assist customers on the store floor as needed. You will also properly bag groceries for customers when needed, carry out groceries for customers if requested, and maintain and retrieve store carts. Additionally, you will run price checks, assist with go-backs, assist with check stand upkeep, and remove waste from the parking area.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the maintenance of the store, focusing on the Produce Department.
• Assist customers on the store floor as needed.
• Properly bag groceries for customers when needed.
• Carry out groceries for customers if requested.
• Maintain and retrieve store carts.
• Run price checks.
• Assist with go-backs.
• Assist with check stand upkeep.
• Remove waste from the parking area.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write both Spanish and English.
• Ability to interact with the general public and co-workers.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate (preferred).

Qualifications

Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The working environment is typical for a fast-paced grocery store, and essential functions of this job include physical requirements such as lifting, standing, walking, and kneeling as well as visual and auditory requirements.

Skills

• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate (preferred).
