Utilities Clerk - 022 Houston-S Main

About the role

As a Utilities Clerk at the 022 Houston-S Main Store, you will assist in the proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department, and assist customers on the store floor as needed. You will also properly bag groceries for customers when needed, carry out groceries for customers if requested, and maintain and retrieve store carts. Additionally, you will run price checks, assist with go-backs, assist with check stand upkeep, and remove waste from the parking area.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the maintenance of the store, focusing on the Produce Department.
• Assist customers on the store floor as needed.
• Properly bag groceries for customers when required.
• Carry out groceries for customers upon request.
• Maintain and retrieve store carts.
• Run price checks, assist with go-backs, and assist with check stand upkeep.
• Remove waste from the parking area.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write both Spanish and English.
• Interact effectively with the general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• Basic PC/Outlook skills.
• Retail Management Certificate (preferred).

• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
