Utilities Business Unit Leader
About the role
Your Job Georgia-Pacific's Naheola Mill in Pennington, Alabama is seeking a Utilities Business Unit Leader to lead a critical operation supporting our Pulp, Power, and Recovery assets. This role provides strategic and operational leadership for a team of 60+ employees, including 9 direct reports, and offers the opportunity to accelerate reliability, operational excellence, and team capability across one of Georgia-Pacific's largest integrated manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and advance all eight elements of Operations Excellence (Compliance, Health & Safety, Reliability, Production, Yield, Cost, Quality, and Capital Projects) within the Utilities organization.
- Lead organizational change as the department continues advancing its implementation of Georgia-Pacific's Asset Maintenance Work Process (AMWP), utilizing a strong understanding of equipment criticality, planning and scheduling best practices, and economic decision making.
- Develop and execute strategies that close performance gaps and improve results across safety, reliability, production, cost, and people capabilities.
- Apply Georgia Pacific’s Disciplined Operations framework to connect all levels of the team to how they deliver results & to ensure we consistently do the right thing, for the right reasons and in the right way.
Requirements
- Experience leading a dynamic team in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience advancing team capabilities through both strategic leadership and tactical execution.
- Experience supporting operations within utilities, power generation, recovery, pulp, paper, chemical processing, or other heavy industrial manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing a financial plan including both operational and maintenance expenditures.
Qualifications
- Experience developing operations teams utilizing Disciplined Operations principles.
- Experience implementing asset reliability or maintenance work process improvements.
- Experience leading and developing union-represented employees within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
Skills
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
