Utilities Asset Manager

About the role

The purpose of the Utilities Asset Manager role is to lead all manufacturing, operational, and technical activities associated with the site Utilities assets to ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost effective delivery of utilities required to support INEOS Acetyls manufacturing operations and onsite tenants.

Responsibilities

This role is accountable for asset integrity, availability, cost control, and continuous improvement in full alignment with INEOS SHE standards and business objectives.

• Actively lead and sponsor adherence to INEOS 20 Safety Principles and Life-Saving Rules across all Utilities assets.
• Responsible for prompt reporting of all safety incidents, injuries, near misses, near hits including the investigation initiation, closure, and communication.
• Ensure Hazop, PHA, LOPA, MOC, alarm management, and operating envelope discipline are embedded and sustained.
• Lead investigation, closure, and learning dissemination for incidents, near misses, and integrity events.
• Ensure utilities assets meet INEOS AsCare expectations and continuously improve housekeeping and operational discipline.
• Lead and develop the Utilities Asset Team, guaranteeing a uniform adherence to site INEOS expectations, SHE, and HR policies.
• Drive succession planning and capability development aligned with long-term site needs.
• Support and/or participate in bi-weekly commercial and operations planning meetings with commercial department to discuss and align area needs.
• Deliver reliable utilities supply (steam, water, compressed air, power, wastewater) aligned with site demand forecasts.
• Own utilities asset availability, reliability, and OEE metrics.
• Develop strategic projects for the reliability, cost structure and growth of the site.
• Maintain focus on EBITDA, fixed and variable costs, budget control, and reporting for assigned Asset.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering).
• 10+ years in manufacturing or utilities operations within a petrochemical or heavy industrial environment.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience; or industry experience with increasing level of responsibility in a leadership fashion.
• Strong working knowledge of utilities systems including boilers, turbines, water treatment, and balance-of-plant systems.
• Ability to pass background check for Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card.

Skills

• Knowledge of energy optimization, mass & energy balances, and continuous improvement.
• Understanding of maintenance strategies and integrity management principles.
• Employee and Labor Relations – Skilled in working within a unionized and non-unionized environment.
• Contract strategy and performance management experience.
• Deep knowledge of personal and process safety management principles (including formal training in Process Safety Management).
• Regulatory Compliance Knowledge – Understand and able to work within various local and regional regulatory safety, environmental, quality, and financial regulations, standards, and laws as required with respect to SHE and Operations.
• Computer Skills - Working knowledge of current software systems, i.e. SAP, e-mail, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
