User Experience Designer
About the role
EventReels is building the infrastructure that helps college communities easily discover, organize, and attend events. The platform brings invites, RSVPs, QR check-in, guest lists, ticketing, media galleries, and AI-powered highlight reels together in a single link. EventReels is already used by campus organizations, Greek life, cultural clubs, and student governments at universities across the United States. The product is designed to make campus events easier to run and harder to miss, strengthening real-world connections.
We need a designer who understands student life and wants to make events easier to run and harder to miss. You will work directly with founders and engineers to design user-centered product experiences for student organizations and event attendees. Your day-to-day will include user research, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, and shipping polished visual designs across web and mobile. You will contribute to the design system, run usability tests, and iterate fast based on real feedback.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with founders and engineers to understand what students and organizers actually need, then translate that into product decisions
- Map user journeys from first invite to post-event recap and find where things break down
- Design low and high fidelity prototypes for new features across web and mobile
- Run user research including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, then synthesize findings into clear design decisions
- Build and maintain the design system so the product stays consistent as we ship fast
- Ensure the experience is accessible and works for everyone, not just the power users
Qualifications
- A portfolio showing end-to-end product design work — we want to see your process, not just the final screens
- Experience running user research: interviews, surveys, usability testing
- Strong prototyping skills in Figma — wireframe to polished mock, fast
- Solid visual design fundamentals: layout, typography, color, spacing
- Experience designing for responsive web and mobile with an understanding of accessibility standards
- Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Genuine interest in campus life and events — experience with student organizations is a plus
