Job Summary
Greet and initiate dialogue with prospective customers. Promoting and selling of heavy duty and medium duty used trucks. Maintain and prepare accurate documentation in reports, quoting and communication related to sales. Excellent presentation skills and ability to close. Make recommendations based on customer needs. Answer questions regarding the equipment. Follow up with customers regarding status of sale, documents, repairs, parts on order, etc. Help customers satisfy their transportation needs since 1986, GTC is an expanded network of 19 dealerships doing business as Gordon Truck Centers, Freightliner Northwest, Western Star Northwest, TrailerCraft, Western Mountain Bus and Freightliner of Hawaii. As a full-service Freightliner, Western Star, Wilson Trailer dealership family, GTC can sell, finance, insure and service commercial trucks for medium and heavy-duty applications. Job Requirements
- Educational Requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 5 years of tractor sales experience desired. Minimum of 3 years sales experience.
- Other: Must have valid driver’s license and insurable.
Skills
- CDL License desired, Awareness of all regulations pertaining to the trucking industry.
- Verbal and written Communication, General PC and Conflict Resolution skills.
- Must be energetic, professional and safety minded at all times.
- Excellent communication both verbal and written, listening skills.
- Good customer service skills.
- Able to prioritize and multi-task.
- Able to work with minimal supervision and direction.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Job Conditions
- Physical: Must be able to physically navigate around a powered tractor unit. Be able to access air lines, cat walk, engine compartment and interior of truck as needed.
- Environmental: Outdoor and indoor contingent on customer’s needs.
Annual Compensation
$80-125k comprised of base salary plus commission
