About the role
This internship provides hands-on laboratory and field experience in assessing sugarcane yield and quality traits, focusing on adaptability to local growing conditions. Participants will work on projects funded by the U.S. Department of Energy's Center for Advanced Bioenergy and Bioproducts Innovation (CABBI).
Responsibilities
- Conduct field and laboratory research to assess sugarcane yield and quality traits.
- Learn and apply laboratory techniques such as filtration, pipetting, solution preparation, and data recording.
- Collect and compile field data to evaluate cane adaptability to local conditions.
- Evaluate and collect data for scientific experiments.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in relevant fields.
- Eager to learn applied plant phenotyping in the field, laboratory, and greenhouse.
- Positive attitude and ability to collaborate with others.
