Summary
Production employees prepare meat according to specifications and standards, using hand tools, knives, and equipment in a fast-paced, repetitive environment. The role involves standing for long shifts, working around animal products, and complying with food safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Use hand tools, knives, or equipment to perform job tasks.
- Work in various temperature conditions, including warm, hot, humid, cold, and wet environments.
- Stand on hard surfaces or elevated platforms throughout the shift.
- Use stairways, steps, ladders, or platforms as needed.
- Perform knife jobs requiring good knife sharpening skills to meet production standards.
- Comply with all food safety policies and regulations.
- Adhere to and promote a strong safety culture.
- Follow safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
- Be respectful of and able to work in a culturally diverse population.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must have 6 months consecutive employment in a beef facility in the last 3 years, or 1 year experience in a beef facility.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Willing and able to work extended hours Monday through Saturday and overtime when necessary.
- Must be able to successfully complete training in Safety, SQF, GMPs, HACCP, SOPs, and Food Defense.
