About the Role
Drives sales in the Vision Center by ensuring effective merchandise presentation, including accurate and competitive pricing, proper signing, and maintaining instock and inventory levels. Oversees budgeting, forecasting sales, and assessing economic trends and community needs.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for Associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
Ensures compliance with Company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations for the Vision Center by analyzing reports, implementing asset protection and safety controls, and overseeing operational reviews.
Coordinates job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting business plans, and measuring progress toward goals.
Upholds the Company’s Open Door Policy by addressing Associate concerns, researching issues, and suggesting resolutions.
Responsibilities
- Model, enforce, and guide Associates on proper customer service techniques to ensure needs, complaints, and issues are resolved within Company guidelines.
- Oversee and participate in community outreach programs, encouraging Associates to serve as community members.
- Ensure the provision of quality eyewear by consulting with and educating customers, selecting products based on needs, obtaining measurements, verifying prescriptions, and maintaining confidential information.
- Perform minor frame repairs and maintain Optical equipment.
- Support plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, communicate goals, and address improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrate adaptability, promote continuous learning, and build accountability for results.
- Foster a culture of belonging, embrace differences, and create opportunities for all Associates to thrive.
- Work collaboratively, build trusting relationships, and communicate with impact to motivate and influence.
- Maintain high standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance, and support Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company.

Requirements
- Completion of 2 or more years of college OR 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience OR 2 years’ general work experience including 1 year’s optical experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current eligibility to work as an optician or apprentice optician under applicable state laws, regulations, and/or rules.

- Experience supervising Associates.

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $28.00 - $43.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments based on location.
