About the role

You will uphold the Company’s Open Door Policy by meeting with Associates, listening to concerns, researching issues, reviewing policies, and providing resolutions. You will also initiate, direct, and participate in community outreach programs, establishing relationships with key community figures and representing the Company’s perspective to external organizations while championing company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts.

You will drive the financial performance of the Facility by ensuring sales and profit goals are met, controlling expenses, developing budgets, and analyzing economic trends and community needs. Additionally, you will model and enforce customer service approaches to resolve customer needs, complaints, and issues within Company guidelines.

You will direct facility operations, communicate company direction, and ensure effective merchandise presentation, including pricing, signing, inventory management, and sales forecasting. You will also oversee the Academy training environment, supporting associate engagement, training curriculum, and customer service standards while acting as a culture champion and advocate for the Academy program.

Responsibilities

  • Model and enforce customer service techniques to resolve customer issues within Company guidelines.
  • Direct facility operations, ensuring effective merchandise presentation, pricing, and inventory management.
  • Oversee the Academy training environment, supporting associate engagement, training, and customer service standards.
  • Execute business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, removing barriers, and measuring progress.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities, including mentoring, performance evaluations, and fostering a team-based work environment.
  • Promote and support company policies, mission, values, and ethical standards.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of current plans and initiatives, consulting with stakeholders to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Build high-performing teams, embracing diversity, and creating a culture of belonging and inclusion.
  • Attract and retain talent, empowering and developing associates while recognizing their contributions.
  • Maintain high standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance, supporting Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company.
  • Deliver results with a customer-first mindset, balancing short- and long-term priorities using data-driven insights.
  • Drive continuous improvement, adopting new technologies and supporting others through change.

Requirements

  • 4 years of general management experience, including financial accountability.
  • 4 years of experience supervising 50 or more exempt and non-exempt associates, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
  • For facilities that sell firearms: successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition: a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
  • Associates must complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Experience running a fresh or dry grocery area.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $95,000.00 - $145,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments, Complex Structure adjustments, and state pay differentials where applicable.
