About the team
The In-Club Systems & Infrastructure team at Sam’s Tech drives the delivery of critical in-club technologies, including computer vision, new club openings, and operational systems impacting millions of members. As a Staff Technical Program Manager, you will collaborate with business, engineering, product, and operations teams to align technical execution with strategic objectives. The team emphasizes clarity at scale, ensuring platforms are delivered with quality, speed, and resilience.
Responsibilities
- Define program goals, deliverables, schedules, and critical paths to manage multiple medium to high-complexity programs aligned with strategic objectives.
- Secure commitment from cross-functional teams and manage dependencies to ensure seamless program execution.
- Translate product requirements into technical designs, ensuring scalability, high availability, and performance across systems and platforms.
- Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and monitor program progress against milestones and quality metrics.
- Communicate program status, risks, and dependencies clearly to stakeholders and leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement by proposing frameworks and automation tools to enhance program delivery.
- Coordinate end-to-end delivery plans, including launch and post-launch operational excellence.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in program management techniques, tools, and frameworks to lead multiple medium to high-complexity programs.
- Strong stakeholder management skills to align cross-functional teams and secure commitments in ambiguous situations.
- Technical knowledge of system architecture, cloud infrastructure, and software lifecycle processes to guide solution design and delivery.
- Ability to identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and manage program budgets effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to convey complex information clearly and foster alignment among stakeholders.
- Analytical problem-solving capabilities to synthesize data and drive informed decision-making.
- Experience implementing operational excellence frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or related area and 5 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
- Option 2: 7 years’ experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Project Management.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, with specialization in strategy, supply chain, finance, information systems, or related area and 3 years’ experience in product design.
- Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.

Pay
Annual salary ranges:
- Sunnyvale, California: $143,000.00 - $286,000.00
- Bentonville, Arkansas: $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and stock for certain positions.
