About the role

Lead a portfolio of Sam's Club remodel projects from planning through grand opening. Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and key milestones to ensure successful delivery. Partner with Construction, Design, Engineering, Operations, Merchandising, and external consultants to drive alignment and resolve issues. Identify risks early, develop mitigation plans, and communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership. Drive continuous improvement by standardizing processes and implementing lessons learned across projects. Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to deliver an exceptional experience for members and associates. Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and compliance standards while minimizing disruption to club operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a portfolio of Sam's Club remodel projects from planning through grand opening.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and key milestones to ensure successful delivery.
  • Partner with Construction, Design, Engineering, Operations, Merchandising, and external consultants to drive alignment and resolve issues.
  • Identify risks early, develop mitigation plans, and communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement by standardizing processes and implementing lessons learned across projects.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners to deliver an exceptional experience for members and associates.
  • Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and compliance standards while minimizing disruption to club operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, civil engineering, project management, or related area, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in commercial real estate project management, construction management, or facilities design.
  • Experience managing capital improvement projects, including design coordination, permitting, contractor oversight, and budget management.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with combined capital budgets.

Qualifications

  • Outlined below are the optional preferred qualifications for this position.
  • Experience in retail, warehouse, or large-format commercial remodel projects.
  • Experience managing projects within occupied/operating facilities.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising project management staff.
  • Experience with project management tools (for example, Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project).
  • PMP, CCM, or AIA certification.
