(USA) Quality Engineer
About the role
As a Quality Engineer, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, reduce process variation, and eliminate operational losses within our Supply Chain and Distribution Network. You will leverage data analysis, Walmart Performance System (WPS) methodologies, and quality improvement tools to identify opportunities, execute solutions, and build sustainable processes that improve performance. You will partner closely with operations leaders, managers, and associates to ensure quality excellence, operational consistency, and compliance across the business.
Responsibilities
- Lead quality and process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, time and motion studies, and other continuous improvement tools.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify quality losses, performance gaps, and opportunities to improve operational effectiveness.
- Develop and implement standardized processes and best practices that reduce variation and improve quality outcomes.
- Support area leaders in identifying, prioritizing, and executing quality-focused improvement projects.
- Manage and drive corrective action plans for quality deviations and process failures.
- Evaluate current operating procedures and recommend enhancements to support operational excellence and compliance with One Best Way standards.
- Contribute to network-wide quality improvement initiatives by identifying replication opportunities and sharing best practices.
- Build quality loss profiles, performance metrics, and gap analyses to support Walmart Performance System (WPS) integration and continuous improvement efforts.
- Lead projects focused on reducing waste, improving efficiency, and delivering measurable business savings.
- Monitor project performance, evaluate results, and sustain improvements through effective change management and standard work implementation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, solve complex problems, and deliver scalable solutions.
- Support operational leaders through coaching, training, and capability building to strengthen continuous improvement and quality management practices.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, safety requirements, and operational procedures.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or prior experience in Quality or Process Improvement OR 2 years' of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Co-Op/Internship in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Distribution with experience applying basic Lean/Continuous Improvement Tools.
- Applied knowledge of a functioning Quality Management System elements including Statistical Process Control, FMEA, Quality KPIs, etc.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and stock.
