About the role
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates while touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating business objectives effectively.
Responsibilities
- Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
- Manages and supports customer service initiatives, such as Store of the Community and community outreach programs.
- Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved and develops action plans to correct deficiencies.
- Provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
- Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
- Monitors merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
- Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
- Supervises and develops hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and providing recognition.
- Promotes a belonging mindset in the workplace and recruits qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
- Coordinates and oversees job-related activities, builds relationships with stakeholders, and supports business initiatives.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Fosters a culture of respect, collaboration, and integrity while attracting and retaining talent.
- Delivers results with a customer-first approach, balancing short- and long-term priorities using data-driven insights.
- Drives continuous improvement, adopts new technologies, and supports teams through change.
Requirements
- 2 years of college; OR
- 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
- 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required.
- For facilities selling only ammunition, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
- Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
- Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments, state pay differentials, or complex structure adjustments based on external challenges.
