Position Summary

Provides evidence-based vision care to ensure patients' health and wellbeing by recommending and prescribing medications and other treatment options such as LASIK surgery, cataract surgery, and providing routine vision care. Educates patients and store associates on eye health, including contact lens care, disease state management, and safety factors. Recommends appropriate patient follow-up, consults with other health professionals to prepare and coordinate patient care plans, and follows up with patients and other health professionals regarding outstanding diagnostics tests or other patient information.

Evaluates Patients

Evaluates patients' health conditions across and within the full vision center scope of service, including visual acuity, visual function, and eye health, using comprehensive eye examinations and diagnostic tests like keratometry, refraction, and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT).

Treatment and Patient Care

Develops and implements treatment plans based on patients' clinical presentations using evidence-based care guidelines. Provides additional vision treatments such as foreign body removal. Represents the company in vision care and patient engagement by delivering exceptional customer service through all patient interactions, maintaining and updating patient information in systems like BOSS, and assisting vision center staff.

Customer Service and Operations

Maintains and updates patient information in vision center systems. Assists vision center staff and ensures adherence to healthcare regulations and Walmart vision center guidelines. Performs administrative and retail tasks such as financial transactions, patient registration, retail transactions, and working with internal and external stakeholders.

Strategic Development and Leadership

Analyzes business objectives and customer needs to develop, communicate, and implement business strategies. Supports mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning. Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize business goals. Engages key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives.

Workforce Management

Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce. Diagnoses capability gaps, recruits, selects, and develops talent, supports mentorship, and develops consequences for violations or non-compliance. Promotes a customer environment and demonstrates adaptability and sponsors continuous learning.

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
