About the Role

You will initiate, direct, and participate in community outreach programs by encouraging and supporting associates and managers to serve as active community members. This includes establishing and maintaining relationships with key community individuals or groups, representing the company to external organizations, and championing company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts to associates, customers, and the local community.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures by holding hourly associates accountable, analyzing and interpreting reports, implementing and monitoring asset protection and safety controls, maintaining quality assurance standards, overseeing safety and operational reviews, and developing action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, evaluating performance, providing recognition, setting clear expectations, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives, resolving customer needs and complaints, and implementing process improvements to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Assist the store manager in driving financial performance by ensuring sales and profit goals are achieved, reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, controlling expenses, developing plans to correct financial deficiencies, and analyzing economic trends for budget forecasting.
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting business initiatives, setting goals, measuring progress, and promoting continuous learning.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and promoting a culture of belonging.
  • Ensure compliance with company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and utilizing the Open Door Policy.
  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive workplace by embracing differences in people, cultures, and ideas, and creating opportunities for all associates to thrive.
  • Work collaboratively, build trusting relationships, and communicate effectively to motivate and influence others.
  • Attract and retain talent, empower and develop associates, and recognize contributions and accomplishments.
  • Maintain high standards of integrity, ethics, and compliance, and support Walmart’s goal of becoming a regenerative company by making a positive impact on associates, customers, and communities.

  • Deliver results while prioritizing customer needs, adapting to shopping behaviors, and applying Everyday Low Price (EDLP) and Everyday Low Cost (EDLC) business models.
  • Make data-driven decisions, balance short- and long-term priorities, and consider the impact on customers, associates, shareholders, and communities.
  • Drive continuous improvement, adopt new technologies, and support others through change.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Associates must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include:

  • Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments based on location.
  • Complex Structure adjustments for external challenges.
  • State Pay Differential to meet legislative requirements, where applicable.
