About the role

At Sam's Club, associates are expected to uphold the company's core values and leadership principles in every aspect of their work. This role involves providing member service, maintaining store areas, resolving member issues, promoting products and services, and supporting the use of self-service technology. Associates are responsible for processing purchases, handling payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies, and ensuring compliance with safety and security standards. Training and mentoring other associates, executing emergency procedures, and driving continuous improvement are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides member service and maintains checkout and entrance/exit areas.
  • Acknowledges members, verifies membership cards, and identifies member needs.
  • Assists members with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, and transporting items.
  • Processes member purchases, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures for different membership and payment types.
  • Promotes Sam's Club products and services.
  • Provides guidance and support to members regarding self-service technology.
  • Zones and arranges merchandise; maintains a safe and organized shopping environment.
  • Reviews member receipts and ensures compliance with company security and safety practices.
  • Assists with securing and safeguarding Sam's Club assets and property by observing and communicating potential criminal activity.
  • Maintains paperwork, logs, and other required documentation.
  • Executes emergency response procedures.
  • Assists with training Member Frontline Services associates on company processes, procedures, and new technology.
  • Delivers new program rollouts and provides continuous learning and process improvement opportunities.
  • Identifies shrink and damages; ensures proper handling of returns.
  • Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Completes work assignments by using policies, data, and resources; collaborates with managers, co-workers, and business partners; communicates progress and identifies improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Retail experience including operating front-end equipment (e.g., cash register).
  • Experience working with mobile retail applications.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $17.00 to $25.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
