This position supervises associates by assigning duties, communicating goals, providing feedback, and monitoring performance. You will participate in hiring, coaching, training, and evaluating associates while maintaining quality and safety standards. The role involves managing landscape operations, leveraging technology for work orders and documentation, and providing customer service to facility users.
Responsibilities
- Supervise associates by assigning duties, communicating goals, and providing feedback.
- Teach and support company policies and procedures; ensure compliance.
- Participate in hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, job shadowing, technician certification, and evaluation of associates.
- Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring equipment, tools, and supplies are in proper working order.
- Train associates on Logistics and company policies; monitor compliance.
- Distribute and maintain procedures and supporting documentation.
- Assign and support work activities to ensure compliance with external regulations (e.g., OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT).
- Serve as an expert in landscape management; manage assigned areas using horticulture methods.
- Maintain garden beds, containers, and landscape plants.
- Leverage technology (e.g., phones, tablets, laptops) to complete work orders and maintain records.
- Perform landscaping tasks (e.g., cutting grass, weed management, raking leaves, applying planting/pruning techniques).
- Identify and resolve pest/disease issues through chemical applications.
- Operate heavy machinery and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Provide customer service by communicating with facility users and resolving problems/complaints.
- Perform seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow/ice management (e.g., operating snow removal equipment, applying de-icing materials).
- Evaluate replacement needs (e.g., mulch, rocks, trees, shrubs, sod) and implement sustainable upgrades.
- Explore improvements to lower operating costs; coordinate with Home Office to standardize equipment.
- Source tools/equipment for repairs; ensure completed work meets quality/safety requirements.
- Prepare and execute budgets; develop cost estimates and approve purchases.
- Maintain vehicles (basic maintenance, cleanliness, fuel/water levels, brake/light checks).
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance; ensure alternate driving support is arranged.
- Safely operate motor vehicles; verify insurance coverage and validity.
- Wear company uniform/badge per policies.
- Operate, inspect, and maneuver heavy machinery/powered equipment in compliance with safety procedures.
- Perform pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections.
- Lead and participate in teams; collaborate to meet business needs and adapt to change.
- Demonstrate, promote, and support compliance with company policies and ethical standards.

Requirements
- Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
- No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol/drugs within the last 3 years.
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years (if driving a commercial motor vehicle).
- No serious/preventable traffic violations or accidents in the last 3 years (if operating a commercial motor vehicle).
- Ability to read/speak English (per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations).
- Ability to complete a DOT physical and maintain a 90-day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.
- 2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in horticulture or related field.
- Certified nursery and/or landscape professional.
- Experience as a landscaping/gardening crew leader or supervisor.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- State/local licensing where required (e.g., Florida, Texas, California).

Pay
The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00. The actual rate will meet or exceed the minimum wage for the job location. Additional premiums may apply (ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour) based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
