About the Role

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Conducts store tours to provide feedback (Tour-to-Teach), communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, provides clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating business objectives effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
  • Manages and supports customer service initiatives, such as Store of the Community and community outreach programs.
  • Ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved; develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Drives financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  • Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  • Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and promoting a belonging mindset.
  • Coordinates and oversees job-related activities, builds relationships with key stakeholders, and supports initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Fosters a culture of respect, collaboration, and integrity by attracting and retaining talent, empowering associates, and recognizing contributions.
  • Acts with integrity by maintaining high ethical standards, promoting sustainability, and supporting Walmart’s regenerative goals.
  • Serves customers and members by prioritizing their needs, adapting to shopping behaviors, and applying EDLP (Every Day Low Price) and EDLC (Every Day Low Cost) business models.
  • Strives for excellence by encouraging continuous improvement, adopting new technologies, and supporting others through change.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms: Successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities selling only ammunition: May require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay

The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation may include:

  • Annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
  • Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments based on location.
  • Complex Structure adjustments for external challenges.
  • State Pay Differential to meet legislative requirements, where applicable.
