Position Summary

TourToTeach, a role within Walmart, involves leading and developing teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. This includes touring stores, providing feedback, and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, merchandising, and company direction.

What you'll do...

  • Teaches and trains teams, actively listens to associates, and provides feedback during store tours.
  • Collaborates with associates at all levels to communicate and address store operations, business initiatives, and merchandising.
  • Introduces and leads company change efforts, sets clear expectations, and guides team implementation of business solutions.
  • Communicates business objectives to teams and ensures customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved.
  • Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and improve the customer experience.
  • Manages and supports customer service initiatives such as Store of the Community and community outreach programs.
  • Ensures financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating Profit & Loss (PL) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  • Maintains effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Supervises and develops hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset.
  • Coordinates and oversees job-related activities and assignments, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, and ensuring customer and business needs are met.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, supports the Walmart mission, values, and ethical standards, and acts with integrity.
  • Builds high-performing teams, embraces differences, and creates a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected through a culture of belonging.
  • Recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and achieve company growth potential.
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission values and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, utilizing the Open Door Policy, and providing direction and guidance on executing business processes and practices.
  • Respects individuals, works collaboratively, builds strong and trusting relationships, communicates with impact, energy, and positivity to motivate and influence others.
  • Attracts and retains the best talent, empowers and develops talent, and recognizes others' contributions and accomplishments.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years’ of college; OR
  • 1 year’s retail experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years’ general work experience and 1 year’s supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports to include the responsibility of performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Additional Compensation

Annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 - $100,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Complex Structure (based on external factors that create challenges).

  • Liv Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.
