About the Role
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Conducts store tours to provide feedback and communicate business objectives, operational changes, and company direction. Models exceptional customer service standards and drives financial performance and sales through strategic planning and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Tour stores to observe operations, provide feedback, and implement training initiatives (Tour-to-Teach).
- Communicate and collaborate with associates at all levels regarding store operations, technology, merchandising, and company direction.
- Introduce and lead company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions.
- Demonstrate and uphold the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives (e.g., Store of the Community, community outreach).
- Resolve customer needs, complaints, and issues; develop action plans to correct deficiencies and improve customer experience.
- Review and evaluate Profit & Loss (P&L) statements; manage budgeting, forecasting, and expense control indexed to sales.
- Monitor merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes to meet sales and profit goals.
- Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve financial targets.
- Supervise, hire, train, and mentor hourly associates; assign duties, set expectations, and provide recognition to foster a belonging mindset.
- Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth.
- Coordinate and oversee job-related activities, building relationships with stakeholders to meet customer and business needs.
- Identify goals, measure progress, address improvement opportunities, and promote continuous learning and adaptability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and ethical standards; support the Open Door Policy.
- Foster a high-performing, inclusive workplace that embraces differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences.

Requirements
- 2 years of college; OR
- 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
- 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
For facilities that sell firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required.
Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership (via Live Better U and Bellevue University).
- Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership (via Live Better U and Bellevue University).
- Experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00 – $100,000.00. Additional compensation may include annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) adjustments, Complex Structure differentials, and state pay differentials where applicable.
