(USA) Director, Strategic Initiatives
Position Summary
The Director, Strategic Initiatives is a senior leader who helps shape and lead Walmart for Good’s workforce and economic mobility work. The role serves as both a business advisor and philanthropic leader: working with Walmart leaders to align business priorities with community needs, and designing initiatives that expand opportunity for workers.
What you'll do
- Develop and lead workforce and economic mobility strategies that help people build skills and access better jobs.
- Advise Walmart teams on opportunities that support both business growth and worker advancement.
- Lead cross-functional projects and partnerships across nonprofit, public, and private sectors, ensuring efforts are coordinated and grounded in local needs.
- Use insights on AI, automation, labor trends, and skills data to guide philanthropic investments.
- Support secure, portable, and usable skills data across employers, training providers, and workforce systems.
- Strengthen links among training, credentials, skills, and jobs.
- Manage results, represent Walmart for Good externally, share learning, and mentor team members/ partners.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Communications, or related field and 5 years’ experience managing cross-functional projects for governmental or non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or corporations
- OR
- 7 years’ experience managing cross-functional projects for governmental or non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or corporations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Developing and managing project budgets for governmental or non-governmental organizations, consulting firms, or corporations
- Managing project teams in a matrix environment
- Managing strategic initiatives
- Master's degree in International Business or related field
Additional Information
The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include : Stock
