About the Role
As the Director of Operations at Macy’s, you will direct the day-to-day Inbound and/or Outbound operations. In collaboration with the senior executive team, you will lead strategic planning to ensure all facility and organizational goals and objectives are met or exceeded.
Responsibilities
- Lead Inbound and Outbound operations to meet or surpass targets such as Units Per Hour (UPH), Cartons Per Unit (CPU), Service on Time (SOT), and Fill Rate goals.
- Provide coaching and guidance to executive team members and oversee colleague counseling and coaching activities.
- Ensure departments meet or exceed performance standards in safety, cost control, quality, processing efficiency, reliability, and customer service.
- Develop and implement short and long-term strategies to improve profitability, productivity, and efficiency across operations.
- Continuously assess work processes to identify optimization opportunities and implement improvements.
- Cultivate a work culture dedicated to superior customer service and establish procedures and metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Drive and manage organizational growth-related changes.
- Analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to gauge department progress toward goals.
- Develop training programs and ensure colleague comprehension and adherence.
- Foster an environment of acceptance, respect, and authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to anticipate staffing needs based on volume plans and adapt to changes in business demand.
- Perform additional duties, special projects, or assignments as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- 5+ years of related experience.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting (at least 30 lbs), constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
- Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- May involve reaching above eye level.
- Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on department and company needs.

- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access) and experience summarizing data and outlining directions.
- Industry Understanding: Strong understanding of warehouse management and supply chain/logistics trends.
- Strategic Execution: Ability to effectively plan and execute strategies to achieve desired outcomes.

Additional Information
This position is based in a supply chain facility. Random drug testing for all colleagues will be conducted on a monthly or semi-monthly basis. Testing must be completed within 24 hours of notification.
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
