Position Summary

Walmart is expanding its workforce and is actively recruiting Developmental Technicians specializing in Refrigeration and HVAC Maintenance. If you have experience in this field, we want you to join our dynamic team!

What you'll do...

As a Developmental Technician specializing in Refrigeration and HVAC Maintenance at Walmart, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of our stores, equipment, and fixtures. You'll work under the guidance of the local Market Manager, following established schedules and guidelines, performing inspections, cleaning, and repairs to keep everything running smoothly.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 18 years or older
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  • Can move up and down ladders frequently
  • Comfortable working at heights frequently
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods
  • Able to work in various temperatures
  • Maintain an excellent driving record

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs
  • Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities
  • Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
  • Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
  • Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely

Additional Information

  • The hourly wage range for this position is $26.00 - $51.00*
  • Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.
  • Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
  • Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Hold and maintain Universal or Type I and Type II Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling
  • Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report
  • 1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area
  • 2 years’ Walmart store experience
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Able to read and speak the English language as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification of at least one year
  • Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years
  • Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related area for commercial HVAC/R and building controls
  • No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
  • No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years
  • Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
  • Using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
