About the role

This position supports drug discovery by performing in vitro experiments to assess the off-target pharmacology of novel compounds using both cellular and biochemical assays.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently and as part of a team to design, execute, and analyze/interpret data from biochemical and in vitro cell-based assays.
  • Run early in-vitro safety screening assays (384-well plate based; medium throughput) using a range of in vitro cell-based, enzyme, and transporter assays.
  • Perform aseptic cell culture work for multiple cell lines to support screening efforts.
  • Maintain detailed experimental records and prepare study summaries and technical reports.
  • Use analysis tools such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, and PowerPoint for experimental documentation, data analysis, and presentations.
  • Contribute to building an innovative culture that embraces scientific excellence, urgency, partnerships with key stakeholders, continuous learning, and improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of pertinent laboratory experience in Pharmacology or a related field.
  • Previous experience running cell/enzyme-based assay platforms in a medium to high throughput environment.
  • Experience using plate-based instrumentation (liquid handling, fluorescent plate readers, plate-based scintillation counters).
  • Cell culture experience.
  • Eagerness to learn new laboratory techniques.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Team player attitude.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to troubleshoot problems independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of receptor pharmacology principles.
  • Experience with Molecular Devices FLIPR, Revity Envision and Envision Nexus, Perkin Elmer MicroBeta2 platforms.
  • Experience using Revity Signals Electronic Notebook.

Pay

Pay rate range: 46–51 USD hourly. Eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state requirements.
