About the role
This position supports drug discovery by performing in vitro experiments to assess the off-target pharmacology of novel compounds using both cellular and biochemical assays.
Responsibilities
- Work independently and as part of a team to design, execute, and analyze/interpret data from biochemical and in vitro cell-based assays.
- Run early in-vitro safety screening assays (384-well plate based; medium throughput) using a range of in vitro cell-based, enzyme, and transporter assays.
- Perform aseptic cell culture work for multiple cell lines to support screening efforts.
- Maintain detailed experimental records and prepare study summaries and technical reports.
- Use analysis tools such as Excel, GraphPad Prism, and PowerPoint for experimental documentation, data analysis, and presentations.
- Contribute to building an innovative culture that embraces scientific excellence, urgency, partnerships with key stakeholders, continuous learning, and improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of pertinent laboratory experience in Pharmacology or a related field.
- Previous experience running cell/enzyme-based assay platforms in a medium to high throughput environment.
- Experience using plate-based instrumentation (liquid handling, fluorescent plate readers, plate-based scintillation counters).
- Cell culture experience.
- Eagerness to learn new laboratory techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
- Team player attitude.
- Excellent time-management skills and ability to troubleshoot problems independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of receptor pharmacology principles.
- Experience with Molecular Devices FLIPR, Revity Envision and Envision Nexus, Perkin Elmer MicroBeta2 platforms.
- Experience using Revity Signals Electronic Notebook.
Pay
Pay rate range: 46–51 USD hourly. Eligible for overtime pay in accordance with federal and state requirements.
