About the role
Responsible for purifying several recombinant proteins each week, routine protein labelling, and final characterization of target proteins and monoclonal antibodies/Fab fragments. Labelling includes fluors, biotin, and other tags. Additional duties include assisting with weekly western blots and possible maintenance of transient and stable mammalian cell cultures.
Responsibilities
- Purify multiple recombinant proteins weekly
- Perform routine protein labelling (fluors, biotin, etc.)
- Characterize target proteins and monoclonal antibodies/Fab fragments
- Assist with weekly western blots
- Maintain transient and stable mammalian cell cultures (as needed)
Requirements
- 1–2 years of protein purification experience
- Strong desire to learn
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with at least one year of relevant experience in biochemistry or a related field
Skills
- Experience with AKTA FPLC and Agilent HPLC
- Protein labelling and antibody handling (preferred)
- Tissue culture (preferred)
