About the role

The Warehouse Lead Associate coordinates activities of and provides coaching and guidance to workers in the warehouse team. The Warehouse Lead Associate works alongside and with the team, stepping in as needed to ensure maximum productivity. The Lead receives direction from the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager and carries out instructions based on given directives. The Lead is responsible for following and enforcing all safety, GMP, and SQF policies/procedures, as well as adherence to PPE/hygiene policies.

Responsibilities

  • Data entry for all inventory and produce invoices
  • Serve as the singular point of contact for all communication with the Procurement team
  • Coordinate end-of-day (EOD) communication with the finance team, including scanning EOD receipts
  • Coordinate door availability for inbound and outbound drivers
  • Ensure the daily workload is equally distributed based on priority and ability
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the warehouse at all times
  • Respectfully communicate with all co-workers and ensure effective employee relations
  • Provide employee instructions and advice on proper task performance, including stocking production materials for the production line
  • Support and follow direction from managers and supervisors, completing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Continuously improve processes and ensure all actions align with HelloFresh business policies
  • Coach employees to follow HelloFresh policies and procedures
  • Train new employees on standard operating procedures (safety, GMP, SQF, PPE, and hygiene policies)
  • Perform duties of supervised workers as needed
  • Report defective equipment or questionable conditions to the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow prescribed safety regulations
  • Communicate with other departments (e.g., Quality or Production) to collaborate and solve problems
  • Update data in the computer system, including typing and data entry using Microsoft Office and Google Sheets

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • One year of related experience preferred
  • Certification as a power material handling equipment operator (required after hiring)
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be willing and able to work the entire scheduled shift without partial shifts or early/late arrivals
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions)
  • Basic computer skills (data entry, Microsoft Office, Google Sheets)

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing and assembly environment with regular exposure to cool and/or cold temperatures (10–40°F). The employee is frequently exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, reach, and lift for a minimum of 10–12 hours per day (with or without reasonable accommodation)
  • Must use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects and/or tools
  • Must be able to talk or hear (with or without reasonable accommodation)
  • Must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds (with or without assistance)
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and peripheral vision

Schedule

This is a full-time position with varied days and hours according to shift. Overtime may be required based on operational needs. The Warehouse Lead is expected to work the hours necessary to complete assignments each day.

Pay

Illinois Pay Range: $21.75 USD per hour.
