About the role

The appropriate candidate should demonstrate an advanced level of medical and/or nursing knowledge in caring for urologic patients, clinical and technical competency, sound clinical judgment, professionalism in interpersonal and general communication skills, and timely and compliant documentation. This individual will also be responsible for ongoing professional development and competency validation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive adult urologic care, which may include in-office procedures, multi-disciplinary interaction, and resident and medical student interaction.
  • Provide patient/family urologic education, which may include catheter teaching, etc.
  • Provide inpatient rounding as needed.
  • Communicate with providers and office staff via the electronic health records system (Epic) regarding patient care needs and management.
  • Submit timely and accurate billing for services rendered.
  • Complete office notes promptly.
  • Serve as a resource for office staff and other members of the health care team.
  • Actively participate in conferences and research activities in areas related to clinical specialty.
  • Maintain compliance with all required training programs, commitment to professional growth and competency, and compliance with all hospital privileges, licensures, and certifications.
  • Other duties as assigned, which may include travel to outlying clinics/hospitals.

Requirements

  • Current certification and licensure in the state of Kentucky.
  • Prior experience with Epic is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Master of Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure in the state of Kentucky as an APRN.
  • National certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, Emergency Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Current DEA certificate without restriction
  • CPR and BLS current
