About the Role

Dartmouth Health (DH) is seeking a BC/BE Urologist to assume leadership of the urologic portion of our Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS) program and fellowship. The position will focus on female and neurologic urology, based at both Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), our academic medical center in Lebanon, NH, and Valley Regional Hospital (VRH), a critical access hospital in Claremont, NH.

The successful candidate will join the Dartmouth Health URPS program with the goal of assuming directorship of the urological portion as our current director retires. They will also lead efforts to expand and build the URPS program in New Hampshire and Vermont, including at Valley Regional Hospital. We are particularly interested in developing a robotic surgery program at VRH.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, a passion for rural healthcare, and a collaborative approach with primary care providers, referring urologists, and OBGYNs. Involvement in medical student and resident education, as well as research, is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the urologic portion of the URPS program and fellowship.
  • Develop and expand the URPS program across New Hampshire and Vermont, including at Valley Regional Hospital.
  • Establish a robotic surgery program at Valley Regional Hospital.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, referring urologists, and OBGYNs.
  • Actively participate in medical student and resident education.
  • Engage in research and scholarly work.
  • Contribute to academic and didactic opportunities at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Urology.
  • Completed training in Urology in an ACGME-accredited residency or a residency accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.
  • Ideally completed or enrolled in an ACGME-accredited URPS fellowship.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible and sub-certified or eligible for sub-certification in FPMRS/URPS.
  • Must obtain and maintain a medical license in the state of New Hampshire.
  • Strong clinical background with a passion for rural healthcare.
  • Excellence in communication and a track record of impeccable professionalism.
