Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory testing and phlebotomy procedures in support of clinical operations, ensuring accuracy, precision, and timeliness of results.
  • Interpret and understand the clinical significance of laboratory results and communicate findings clearly and promptly.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot high-tech laboratory instrumentation at a professional level to ensure optimal performance.
  • Report laboratory results accurately and rapidly on an ongoing basis using established laboratory information systems and documentation standards.
  • Follow established safety procedures at all times, including Universal Precautions and proper use of safety equipment.
  • Carry out routine scheduled maintenance on laboratory equipment to maintain reliability and compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform specialized maintenance procedures on laboratory instruments as required to minimize downtime and maintain test quality.
  • Teach and demonstrate laboratory procedures to other Technologists and Technicians to support training, competency, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and compliant work areas in accordance with laboratory protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in blood bank, hematology, and chemistry testing as needed, following all relevant policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in performing clinical laboratory testing and phlebotomy procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of the clinical significance of laboratory results in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot high-tech laboratory instrumentation.
  • Experience performing routine and specialized maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Capability to teach and train other Technologists and Technicians in laboratory procedures.
  • Technical expertise in chemistry, hematology, and blood bank testing.
  • Associate's degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
  • Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a Medical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards in all laboratory activities.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in blood bank, hematology, and chemistry is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical laboratory team.
  • Effective communication skills to explain procedures and results to colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tests and tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and staying current with laboratory techniques and instrumentation.

Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Schedule

The standard schedule is a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with every other weekend required.
