Urgent Care Veterinarian (DVM)
About the Role
Utah Veterinary Emergency Center (UVEC) is a newly established, independently owned veterinary urgent care hospital in Herriman, Utah. We are building a practice committed to the gold standard of medicine while prioritizing doctor well-being and genuine community impact. As an Urgent Care Veterinarian, you will join our founding team, help shape our culture, and work in a well-equipped, modern facility alongside experienced veterinary professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment designed to prevent burnout.
Responsibilities
- Examine, diagnose, and treat urgent veterinary cases across a wide range of presentations
- Perform surgical and diagnostic procedures—confidence and capability in the OR are expected
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and prognosis
- Maintain thorough and accurate medical records
- Collaborate with support staff, veterinary technicians, and referring veterinarians
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented workplace culture—respect is non-negotiable
- Practice the gold standard of patient care and client service in every interaction
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an AVMA-accredited institution
- Active veterinary license in good standing in the State of Utah (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Clinical confidence in urgent care medicine; prior urgent care experience preferred but not required
- Strong diagnostic and surgical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine commitment to compassionate, evidence-based veterinary medicine
- A strong work ethic and the drive to continuously improve—you hold yourself to a high standard

Pay
$150,000 base salary or 25% production—whichever is greater. No cap on your upside. No negative accrual.
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Maximum of 14 shifts per month
