Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant $15,000 sign on bonus (Open)

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners with urgent care, emergency room experience, or high acute family medicine experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will treat both adult and pediatric patients and function in lieu of or alongside of a physician.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
• Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
• One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required
• Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience
• Required Licenses/Certifications: National Certification, Active state medical licensure

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
• Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.
• Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays
• Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting
• Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills

Essential Functions

• Examining and treating patients
• Taking patients’ medical histories
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
• Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
• Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
• Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
• Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
• Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care

Additional Information

• Anticipated eight (8) or twelve (12) hours per shift
• Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred
• Additional knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records
• Attentive with strong listening skills
• Strong communication and customer service skills
