About the role
We are seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners with urgent care, emergency room, or high acute family medicine experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will treat both adult and pediatric patients in a welcoming and diverse community of providers.
Responsibilities
- Treating acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections
- Recognizing and directing patients to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary
- Examining and treating patients
- Taking patients' medical histories
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays
- Making diagnoses and prescribing medications
- Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting
- Recording progress notes for follow-up patients
- Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients
- Giving vaccinations
- Referring patients to additional care
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
- Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
- One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required
- Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience
- National Certification
- Active state medical licensure
