DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Urgent Care team provides evaluations and treatments for a variety of non-emergency conditions, including respiratory symptoms, minor injuries, skin conditions, ear pain, and occupational health testing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs diagnostic radiography procedures as ordered by providers.
  • Affirms accuracy and quality of imaging studies in line with established protocols and physician expectations.
  • Collaborates with Radiology leadership on implementing or updating imaging procedures and workflows.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory and credentialing standards for safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Supports nursing staff in completing physical examinations and clinical assessments.
  • Conducts occupational health testing, including drug screening, breath alcohol testing, and other regulated assessments.
  • Performs ancillary clinical services such as EKGs, height/weight/vision screening, phlebotomy, hearing tests, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and teamwork by maintaining effective working relationships and contributing to a collaborative environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice and departmental needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • One year of clinical radiology experience in an acute care or outpatient setting preferred.
  • Current ARRT certification required or registry-eligible with certification obtained within required timeframe.
  • State of Ohio Radiologic License required or eligibility to obtain prior to start date.
  • Experience in general diagnostic imaging preferred, with knowledge of radiographic procedures, patient positioning, radiation safety, and quality imaging standards.
  • Addition certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) required or ability to obtain within designated timeframe.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Ability to respond to inquiries or concerns from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This job requires direct patient care including positioning, bed mobility, transfers, ambulation, and wheelchair transport. Physical demands vary greatly based on patient size, equipment used, movement performed, body mechanics utilized, and availability of other personnel. Frequency and duration of these physical requirements are highly variable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job involves frequent exposure to radiation. Noise levels are usually moderate, with possible exposure to noise, fumes, dust, warm/cool temperatures, and brief exposure to other hazards.
