Responsibilities
- Performs and/or assists with all routine diagnostic and therapeutic radiographic procedures.
- Produces quality images while applying both radiation and physical safety measures.
- Collects patient data, documents procedures, and educates patients on radiologic procedures and safety protocols.
- Performs and/or assists with ordered diagnostic imaging and safely prepares patients with positioning and protection equipment for radiologic imaging.
- Consistently identifies patients accurately by using two patient identifiers per policy and procedure.
- Ensures the accuracy of the ordered exam.
- Ensures compliance with workflow guidelines per policy and procedure and participates in performance improvement plans when necessary.
- Ensures imaging equipment is in optimum operating order and informs the appropriate person when repairs are needed.
- Consistently performs radiation safety in accordance with As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA).
- Understands and attests to the principles of Image Gently and Image Wisely on an annual basis.
Qualifications
- Completion of, or currently enrolled in, a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accredited program in Radiologic Science.
- NCT status as permitted by state regulations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 14 days of hire date.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Certification and current registration for Radiologic Technologist (R.T.) from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Prior experience in a radiology or hospital imaging environment.
