Purpose
The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a full-time Urgent Care Manager to lead their newly established Urgent Care Clinic operating a swing shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
About the Role
The Urgent Care Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care, providing outstanding client service, and managing clinic operations. They will work closely with veterinary leadership to develop operational strategies, monitor performance metrics, and implement innovative solutions to enhance quality, efficiency, and the client experience. The manager will also recruit, develop, and support a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, compassion, and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Ensure exceptional patient care and client service
- Manage clinic operations efficiently
- Develop and implement operational strategies
- Maintain budget, P&Ls, and operational metrics
- Monitor financial performance and ensure compliance with veterinary, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Address client concerns and drive the continued growth and success of the clinic
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Veterinary Practice Management, Animal Science, or related field preferred
- CVT or CVMP certification preferred
- Minimum of three years of veterinary clinic management experience
- Minimum of three years of urgent/emergency care technician experience
- Multi-doctor practice or emergency/urgent care experience preferred
- Experience managing budgets, P&Ls, and operational metrics
- Knowledge of OSHA, DEA requirements
- Strong leadership, financial, customer service, and change management skills
- Able to speak, read, write, and understand English; Spanish language helpful
- Above average proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; ability to learn DaySmart, Chameleon, and other software programs as necessary
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, sitting, using hands and arms, reaching, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Lifting, carrying, or moving items weighing up to 50 pounds, including medical supplies, equipment, or animal-related materials
- Exposure to animals and animal-related noise, odors, dander, fur, cleaning chemicals, and occasional exposure to wet or slippery surfaces
- Regularly exposed to varying temperatures, dust, and outdoor conditions while moving between facilities or operational areas
- Comfortable working in areas where animals are housed, treated, or transported
