Urban Planning Intern - Transportation (Fall 2026)

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in the preparation of planning and design studies for various mobility and transportation projects.
  • Contribute to street design and sustainable design initiatives.
  • Use graphic and communication tools such as computer aided design and drafting, Rhino, ArcMap/ArcGIS Pro, and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Create presentations and reports.
  • Utilize knowledge of ArcGIS Online apps.
  • Show strong writing and editing skills.
  • Experience with AI is a plus.

Capabilities and Credentials

  • Some exposure to design software.
  • Current good academic standing in an urban planning and design or related program.
  • Portfolio of work demonstrating experience in ArcGIS Pro, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Rhino, or other digital design software or graphic design tools.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Master’s Program.

Education and Experience

  • Must meet educational requirements.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Range

$29.60 - $35.52 Hourly
