Upstate New York Spring 2027 & Summer 2027 Accounting Internship

About the role

The Bonadio Group offers internships that provide hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities to grow in public accounting. Interns work alongside experienced professionals and gain exposure to real client engagements.

Responsibilities

• Tax Internship: Prepare individual, small business, and corporate tax returns, assist with tax research and planning projects, analyze financial information, and collaborate on client engagements.
• Small Business Advisory Internship: Assist with bookkeeping and accounting functions, prepare and review client financial information, learn small business tax preparation processes, and work directly with accounting professionals.
• Assurance Internship: Engage in hands-on projects and meaningful client work, including Form 990 preparation and review support, Employee Benefit Plan (EBP) engagements, Technical Accounting Standards Update (ASU) projects, and Year-end audit engagements.

Requirements

• Active enrollment in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s in accounting program.
• Coursework supporting CPA eligibility requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Passion for client service and continuous learning.

Pay

The rate of pay for this role is $22/hour.

Schedule

• Spring 2027 Internships (January - April): Approximately 20–25 hours per week.
• Summer 2027 Internship (June - August): Assurance Internship - Approximately 20-25 hours per week in the Spring, approximately 36 hours per week in the Summer.
