Upholstery Trainee

Position Summary

Use transfer cart to move assembled frame from conveyor to upholstery lift.

The upholstery lift (scissor lift) is pneumatically powered and controlled by a foot pedal.

• Ster stapler filler material (foam) to the frame.
• Use scissors to cut excessive filler material from the frame.
• Use pneumatic staple gun to attach fabric/leather to the frame.
• Pull and stretch the fabric/leather with the non-trigger hand to ensure the desired fit.
• Smooth out and tuck seams with a regulator (ice pick) for a crisp finished appearance.
• Rarely lifting is required to sit frames off the assembly conveyor due to repairs.
• Use transfer cart to move frame back onto conveyor and push down the line.
• May perform other duties/special or non-routine assignments as instructed.

Qualifications

Once your training has concluded, you should be able to perform all of the accountabilities listed above, without assistance.
