Towson University (TU) is seeking a University Police Officer III to join their team. The position involves patrolling the campus, responding to calls for service, preparing reports, making arrests, providing first aid, and supervising other officers.
- Patrol the campus in various modes (vehicle, bicycle, foot)
- Respond to and investigate calls for service
- Prepare written reports
- Make physical arrests or prepare charging documents
- Render first aid and process crime scenes
- Supervise squad members
- Conduct administrative investigations
- Maintain police radio and respond to incidents
- Monitor and evaluate squad performance
The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, certification as a Sworn Police Officer within the last three years, and one year of experience as a Sworn Police Officer. Two years of experience as a University Police Officer is preferred. Must have a valid Maryland driver’s license with no more than five points.
A criminal background check, pre-employment physical, CVSA testing, and psychological evaluation are required. The salary is $71,245 annually, starting on the UPO scale, and benefits include annual leave, holidays, personal and sick days, health, life, and retirement plans, and tuition remission.
